So i was curious about this dish the very time i had heard of it from a fried.. so before even tasting it i had developed a curiosity about such a extreme combination and had many questions framed up in  my mind about the outcome of the dish.
Yes, it turnred out just yum at the very first try and my hubby and son were the first ones to try it as i kept almost fingers crossed so that the icecream inside is not melting and voila, it was just so icecream and not melting..!! Bingo..
Lets get to the recipe, you can make as many as you want
Ingredients: for 5 no’s

  1. Bread slices/ cake slices(breadlike sponge cake)- 3-5.
  2. Icecream- tub or a family pack with flavour of your choice.
  3. Oil for deep frying- preferably refined.
  4. All purpose flour- 1tbsp
  5. water- 1/2 cup.
  6. Cornflakes coarsely powdered.
  7. Cream or fruit for topping- Optional

Method:-
  • Scoop out 5 scoops of icrecream separately and place it on a flat surface- plate or a tray and place it in deep freezer for 5-6 hours, or until frozen completely.
  • Take a cling wrap cut into squares of 15x15cm (take 5 of this size)
  • Place bread slice with or without corners and using a roller flatten or thin it out and then place the frozen scooped out icecream inside it and gently using both palm make a ball, so that the bread/cake is covering icecream completely and bringing the ends of the cling wrap together secure it.Repeat the same for all the ice cream scoops.
  • Place them on the plate /tray and put them back in freezer along with cling film – freeze for 6-8 hrs.
  • Keep oil ready for frying.

  • In a plate spread cornflakes- coarsely powdered
  • Now gently unwrap the frozen bread balls.
  • Dip them in slurry and roll on cornflakes powder.
  • Fry in oil on medium flame and just at slight browning take them out of oil
  • Use tissue to drain out excess oil.
  • Serve immediately .
  • You can top it with whipped cream and decorate with any tropical fruit or seasonal fruit
  • It can be enjoyed as it is also.
